Welcome to WikiTech!
I've worked in the technology industry and one of the most common gripes I've heard from my friends is this "The salesman told me that [tech item] could do [action] but it doesn't." Now is this always a case of a sales person trying to make a quick sale? Sometimes. More often than not, people simply find themselves in a world of technology that is quickly changing and always evolving. If you are a normal consumer, you have neither the time nor the motivation to crawl through multiple websites and reviews before you buy something. And if you do, many times you may be wondering if it was simply a fan of that company who would post a sterling review even if many people are say contrary.
This is where WikiTech comes in. Articles for specific electronics can be created and factually reviewed. But what makes this different from wikipedia.org? Every article written will be required to have a section that breaks down the item's specifications and what that equates to in a simplified review. So if you are technically inclined, you can find the specifics you want. If you are looking for a review that is backed by facts and don't want to have to crawl through 10 pages of jargon that you won't understand, you can still come here.
For those of you who wish to contribute, please feel free to review any electronic item you wish. There are a few stipulations:
1) Keep personal opinions out of the breakdown. The article itself is for people to read the facts.
2) You must own or regularly use the item you are reviewing. If you are ONLY creating articles with specification pages, you may do so without having owned or used said item.
3) You may edit other people's articles if they are incorrect. You may NOT edit other people's Opinion sections.
4) When you create your specifications page, please cite your sources as much as possible. Also, a hard link to the item's webpage (if available by the company) is required at the top of the page.
